UMMA Health Announces Completion of Rebrand Reflecting Growth and Vision for the Future

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

UMMA Health is proud to announce the completion of its transformative rebranding from UMMA Community Clinic to UMMA Health. This milestone reflects our organization’s evolution from a single free clinic founded by the courage and conviction of UCLA Medical Students to a growing network of comprehensive healthcare and community services across South Los Angeles and beyond.

Rooted in the Islamic principles of service, compassion, human dignity, and social justice, UMMA Health remains resolute in its mission to provide high-quality, whole-person care to underserved communities. The rebrand underscores UMMA Health’s commitment to expanding its impact while honoring its Islamic heritage.

“UMMA Health represents who we are today and where we are headed,” said Adel Syed, Ed.D, Chief Executive Officer of UMMA Health. “This rebrand is is a reflection of our commitment to delivering innovative care, building healthier communities, and uplifting the human spirit.”

Highlights of the Rebrand
New Name and Logo: The transition to UMMA Health captures our comprehensive approach to wellness and healthcare. The refreshed logo, inspired by UMMA’s Islamic heritage, features a celebratory human figure symbolizing wellness, unity, and community.

Future Vision: With plans to open the first urgent care in South Los Angeles and expand into new communities, UMMA Health is poised to meet the growing needs of underserved populations across the region. “While our name has evolved, our mission remains unchanged,” added Board Chair Paul Wong Esq. “We will continue to be the beacon of hope and healing that our founders envisioned, meeting people where they are and helping them thrive.”
