Welcome to UMMA, where purpose meets passion. Every role here matters, every voice is heard.
UMMA is different from other workplaces in the sense that one thing I always see is people say, “If you’ve seen one FQHC, you’ve seen them all.” Our quality, our ability to be compassionate, our ability to listen to our patients, I think it’s far and above beyond that of other organizations.
The team culture at UMMA across all levels of our staff is collaborative and highly multidisciplinary. Each role is significant and imperative to give our best product and service to the community that we serve.
Someone should consider joining UMMA if they’re really dedicated and passionate about serving their communities and not just being someone else seeing a patient, but really becoming integrated into their lives and helping them become better people and leading healthier lives overall.
One word I’d use to describe working at UMMA is fulfillment. The joy I get from working with our patients, our staff, and everyone who supports the community we serve. It’s a very fulfilling and very rewarding feeling.

Video Transcript - Getting to Know the People Who Make the Magic Happen | Working at UMMA
Every hallway at UMMA has a story. We are mentors, caretakers, neighbors, and friends. This is more than just where we work. This is our community.
My journey to UMMA began with my passion for community service. I volunteered a lot in college, and I also come from a first-generation family where it was difficult to access healthcare.
UMMA’s values align with what I’m passionate about. That is what drove me here, and I’m happy to be here.
My favorite memory of working at UMMA actually started before I even got hired. The day I came in to interview, a staff member greeted me at the door and said, “Shh, we’re at a funeral.”
It happened to be the same day as Nipsey Hussle’s funeral, and I was watching the same livestream on my phone.
That resonated with me because this person had such an impact on the community we lived in and served. I knew this place actually cared.
Working at UMMA has impacted my life by giving me the opportunity to grow.
I’ve been able to expand my career, professionally and personally, by learning from everyone around me and by learning about myself.
Working for UMMA and receiving the benefits we get, whether it’s our 403(b) matching program, generous PTO policies, or schedule flexibility, has made a real difference.
When it comes to work-life balance, those are some of the greatest benefits of working at UMMA.
I have a pretty good work-life balance here at UMMA. I’m able to clock off, enjoy my weekends, spend time with my family and my nieces, and know that our patients will be taken care of because the whole team pitches in.
