Statement

To strengthen African and African-American communities through services that encourage physical, mental well-being and recovery while bringing cultural awareness and appreciation of the Mind, Body and Soul.

Our Values

Black Visions of Wellness Integrated Service Management (ISM) program is committed to eliminating stigma associated with chronic medical conditions, mental illness and substance abuse through culturally competent prevention services, and collaboration between traditional and non-traditional systems.

We aim to address chronic health conditions, substance use problems, trauma, depression, and stress. In partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.

As part of our non-traditional services, we offer the following weekly online and in person classes to our program participants:  

  • Zumba
  • Chair Stretch
  • Meditation
  • Tai Chi
  • Art Therapy

Who We Serve

Anyone who identifies as Black or African American and is residents of Los Angeles County.

Health Services

UMMA provides culturally competent services tailored to meet the diverse needs of individuals, respecting their beliefs, values, and behaviors.

Counseling Services

Individuals in need of emotional counseling due to economic stress, relationship issues, trauma, and other counseling services as needed
